Referrals
Referrals lets you record which of your existing clients referred a new client to you. Over time, this builds a clear picture of who your best advocates are and where your word-of-mouth growth is coming from.
Recording a Referral
When adding or editing a client, set the Referred by field to the existing client who sent them. You can also record a broader referral source (e.g., "Google", "Instagram") if the referral didn't come from an existing client.
The referring client's profile will automatically show a list of everyone they've sent your way.
Viewing Referral Data
On a client profile
Open any client profile and scroll to the Referrals section to see:
- Clients they have referred to you
- Total number of referrals from this client
- Revenue attributed to those referred clients
Across all clients
The Referrals overview page shows your top referrers ranked by number of referrals and by revenue generated — useful for deciding who to reward.
Using Referral Data
Referral reward programs. Identify your top referrers and offer them a thank-you — a discount, a complimentary treatment, or a handwritten note. Clients who refer are worth far more than their own spend.
Understanding word-of-mouth. Referral source tracking tells you whether your word-of-mouth is coming from long-term regulars, recent converts, or a specific treatment cohort. This shapes where you invest in client experience.
Qualifying new leads. A referred lead is warmer than a cold inquiry. Knowing they were referred — and by whom — helps you tailor the first conversation.
Tips
Record it at intake. The best time to capture referral source is when the client first books or when you add them to the system. It gets harder to reconstruct later.
Ask directly. A simple "How did you hear about us?" at the end of a first appointment captures referral data you'd otherwise miss.
