Stripe Setup

Connecting Stripe lets you accept card payments in-person via Tap to Pay, online via payment links, and through the checkout flow. Setup takes around 10 minutes.

How It Works

Aestheticc uses Stripe Connect Express. You create your own Stripe account — not a shared merchant account. This means:

  • Payouts land directly in your business bank account
  • You have your own Stripe dashboard for reporting and disputes
  • Aestheticc takes a 2% platform fee per transaction (minimum 20p, capped at £50)
  • Stripe's standard card rates apply on top (~1.5% + 20p for UK cards)

Connecting Your Account

Go to Settings → Payments → Connect Stripe.

This opens Stripe's onboarding flow, which collects:

  • Business details and address
  • Bank account for payouts
  • Identity verification (passport or driving licence)

Stripe handles the verification process. You'll be redirected back to Aestheticc when complete.

If you already have a Stripe account, you can connect it rather than creating a new one.

After Connecting

Once onboarding is complete, Stripe enables charges and payouts on your account. You'll see a "Connected" status on the Payments settings page.

From here you can accept:

Fees Summary

| Transaction type | Platform fee | Notes | |-----------------|-------------|-------| | Online checkout / payment link | 2% (min 20p, max £50) | Stripe card rate added by Stripe | | Tap to Pay / card reader | 2% total | Direct charge to connected account | | Manual payment (cash / bank) | None | Not processed through Stripe |
